Aurelio De Laurentiis è stato un fiume in piena nella conferenza stampa congiunta con Antonio Conte. Tra i tanti argomenti, il Presidente del Napoli ha parlato anche del tema stadio: "Immagina soltanto dover combattere con i sindaci di questa città ed hai un sindaco anche juventino. Dopo due scudetti non continua a darmi lo stadio in prossimità della partita, è ridicolo! Soltanto uno che ha attributi di ferro come me ha supportato e sopportato con fede il Calcio Napoli.

Per il carattere che avevo, quando sono arrivato a Napoli c'era un'amica di mia madre come sindaco e ho lasciato perdere. Poi è arrivato il Masaniello ed è stato carino di non farmi fare uno stadio da un'altra parte, come voleva qualcuno. Ho fatto tanti progetti per il Maradona e ho rilevato un'inadeguatezza per la ricostruzione. Ho detto a Fico che se si permette di dare soldi per il Maradona non investirò più per il Napoli. Ho trovato un terreno della Q8 che, se il sindaco non mi mette i bastoni tra le ruote, ho 200 mln pronti e faccio uno stadio da 70 mila posti in due anni. Sapete che a Napoli c'è il detto: "tirà a campà". Speriamo di tirare a campare nel verso giusto".
